Our Mission at Saint Theresa Religious Education is to assist parents, as primary educators, in fulfilling the promises you made at your child’s Baptism. You accepted the obligation to nurture your child in the Catholic Faith and help prepare and participate in the Sacramental life of the Church. As partners in this mission our goal is to help draw families into a deeper relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Adults seeking to receive Baptism, Confirmation, or Holy Communion are encouraged to enroll in our RCIA program.
Any volunteer over the age of 18 is required by the Diocese of Bridgeport to have a background check and register in a training program, “Protecting God’s Children.” Volunteers may sign up for the class (at no charge) through online registration. The class is approximately 3 hours and may be taken at various locations in the diocese including the Catholic Center in Bridgeport. Upon completion of the class, a copy of the certificate must be submitted to the office prior to beginning duties as a volunteer. For more information contact our Virtus Coordinator.
CATECHIST CERTIFICATION: ALL Catechists must be working toward completion of Religious Education courses, as required by the diocese Office of Faith Formation.
